English: Upperthorpe Tower Blocks, viewed from The Ponderosa, Sheffield. This picture shows five of the seven Tower Blocks in this area ... the other two are off to the right. They were constructed in the 1960's as part of the re-development of the area known as Port Mahon, which was an area of back-to-back terraced houses. The Tower Blocks were re-clad and 'titivated' in the 1990's and still look in 'good fettle' to me. The grassed area in front is known locally (and now officially) as The Ponderosa ... see this link http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ponderosa_(Sheffield) The birds are a flock of Pigeons which seem to like gathering together on a nearby roof. 17207501720869
