English: Segment from a 1921 Danish Geodata Agency map of northern Iceland, focused on the Vatnsdalur (valley) between the Víðidalsfjall and Vatnsdalsfjall. Geographic features of the Vatnsdalur include the Vatnsdalsá (river), the Flóðið (lake), and the Vatnsdalshólar (hills), in addition to farms and churches – many of which date to early settlement of the valley. The Hóp tidal lagoon is depicted in the northwest (upper left).
