English: Venable Street Baptist Church - 1891. The church was designed by M. J. Dimmock and built by D. Wiley Davis.
Comment by user EAC23150: THIS PHOTOGRAPHED CHURCH WAS NOT VENABLE STREET BAPTIST CHURCH. The church pictured was erected in 1884 by Christ Episcopal Church. FROM 1956 - 2012, it was home to the Temple of Judah.
Venable Street Baptist Church was built at 2101 Venable Street in 1891. Great Hope Baptist Church purchased the building on March 1, 1954 and Venable Street Baptist Church moved to Cedar and Ellis (now Elkridge Lane and Hartman Street) in Henrico County. That location is now home to the Rising Mt. Zion Baptist Church, itself founded during Reconstruction in the Fulton area.
