Caption on alternate item in same folder reads: "Miss Vida Milholland of New York, who has devoted herself to suffrage work since here sister, Inez Milholland Boissevain, died campaigning for suffrage in California in 1916. Miss Milholland was in the first group of women jailed in Washington. During her sentence she sang every night for the prisoners, and thrilled groups of Washington people who gathered to listen to the Women's Marseillaise." - Vida Milholland of New York City, was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John E. Milholland and sister of Inez Milholland Boissevain. She was a student at Vassar College where she excelled in athletics and drama. She studied singing abroad, but upon death of her sister gave up her musical career for full-time work in suffrage. She was arrested July 4, 1917 for picketing and served three days in District Jail. In 1919 she toured the United States as part of the "Prison Special" tour of NWP speakers. She sang at all the meetings.
