Built by Charles Crow. The Roman Catholic Bishop of Cloyne, George Berkeley, lived here 1734-1752. John Brinkley was the last Bishop to occupy the palace. In 1836, the palace and demesne were released to M. H. Allen, who commissioned this piece.
