English: Photo of the detection bench of the Virgo interferometer, taken in a clean room of the LAPP in Annecy, where it was being assembled at the time. It was installed at Virgo in 2015. It is 88 cm large, and receives the light from the output of the interferometer ; it contains a mode cleaner which cleans the beam and reduces its size from 2 cm to 0.3 mm. The photodiode for measuring the signal is placed on a different bench.
