    Summary

Description Dissection proof without words that the area of the parallelogram is the absolute value of the determinant of the matrix formed by the vectors representing the parallelogram's sides by CMG Lee. Based on the diagram http://i.sstatic.net/gCaz3.png by Solomon W. Golomb that appeared in Mathematics Magazine, March 1985, altered to avoid overlapping areas.
