DescriptionWallasey Dock hydraulic pumping station. - geograph.org.uk - 1731370.jpg
English: Wallasey Dock hydraulic pumping station.. This is the inside of the well known pumping station - 636788. Now disused, it was then still providing hydraulic power to dock installations. The plant consisted of two motor driven centrifugal pumping sets and two motor driven three-throw reciprocating pumping sets. The plant would once have been steam powered. We were privileged to see these as it was Saturday afternoon and we quite literally got in "on the knocker".
