DescriptionWarwick, St Mary's church, Beauchamp monument (36614011791).jpg
At the centre of the purpose-built chapel is the tomb of Richard Beauchamp d. 1439, a gilded bronze effigy with a semi circular cage protecting it. At his feet a Griffin and Bear, the family emblems. The plinth is surrounded by weepers, each with their own heraldic shield, and includes Monks and ladies. Some say it is the finest piece of English 15th-century bronze sculpture, modelled and cast by William Austen of London, gilded and engraved by Bartholomew Lambespring, a Dutch goldsmith.
