This is a 11,200-acre reservoir within the Deschutes National Forest approximately 40 miles southwest of Bend. This is one of Oregon's largest and most productive fisheries, offering self-sustaining populations of kokanee, brown trout, and rainbow trout. Both kokanee (up to 20 inches) and brown trout (up to 15 pounds) grow quite large here.
This is primarily a boat fishery, although casting from shore is also popular. Depths range from 20 to 65 feet. Good boat ramps are available at Gull Point and North Wickiup campgrounds at the mouth of the Deschutes arm, at West South Twin Campground on the lower Deschutes Arm, Reservoir Campground on the southwest shore, and Wickiup Butte Campground on the southeast shore.
Fish for rainbow trout, brown trout, kokanee, whitefish, and largemouth bass.
