English: Scope of the WikiProject Tree of Life, focused on the borders between eukaryote-related subprojects. As their names suggest, the Plants, Fungi and Animals subprojects cover the natural groups known as land plants (Embryophyta), fungi, and animals (Metazoa), leaving all remaining eukaryotes to the Protista subproject. The Algae subproject only covers protists with chloroplasts (and cyanobacteria), therefore its scope is limited to few, far-related branches of life, as opposed to a single natural group.

Note that, even though Bacteria and Archaea fall under the scope of subproject Microbiology, this project is focused around microscopic organisms in general, meaning it also includes protists, animals, and fungi (and viruses, ignored here). Similarly, the subproject Paleontology is focused around fossils, and thus covers almost all eukaryotic life.
