to share – to copy, distribute and transmit the work
to remix – to adapt the work
Under the following conditions:
attribution – You must give appropriate credit, provide a link to the license, and indicate if changes were made. You may do so in any reasonable manner, but not in any way that suggests the licensor endorses you or your use.
share alike – If you remix, transform, or build upon the material, you must distribute your contributions under the same or compatible license as the original.
The object shown falls under the Exhaustion doctrine under U.S. law. Under the doctrine, once an authorized sale of a patented article occurs, the patent holder's exclusive rights to control the use and sale of that article are said to be "exhausted," and the purchaser is free to use or resell that article without further restraint from patent law. (17 U.S.C. § 109). See also First-sale doctrine. The first-sale doctrine creates a basic exception to the copyright holder's distribution right. Once the work is lawfully sold or even transferred gratuitously, the copyright owner's interest in the material object in which the copyrighted work is embodied is exhausted. The owner of the material object can then dispose or make use of it as he sees fit.

According to § 17 (2) of the German Copyright Act (UrhG) the following applies: If the original or copies of the work have been put into circulation by way of sale in the territory of the European Union or another state party to the Agreement on the European Economic Area with the consent of the person entitled to disseminate the work, their further distribution is permitted with the exception of rental. This law was confirmed by a decision of the European Court of Justice. (EuGH GRUR Int. 1998, 140 (144))
