DescriptionYali Pillars in mantapa (hall) in Someshvara Temple at Kolar.JPG
English: This photograph was taken by me at the Someshvara temple (also spelt Someshwara or Somesvara) in Kolar, Kolar district, Karnataka state, India. The Someshvara temple is an ornate example of early 14th century architecture of the Vijayanagara Empire. Seen here are Yali (mythical beast) pillars of the large maha mantapa (main hall) where devotees gather for prayers. Yali pillars are a Vijayanagara era commonality.
