Summary

Description
English: Singed: 芳幾筆 [Yoshiiku Hitsu], Actors Greeting the New Year, 1863. All are indentified either by their professional or poetic names. Even without such identifications (in the long columns; either red or yellow), they are eminently recognizable. For example Gonjuro is sixth from the right (his striped kimono tucked up under his obi); Tanosuke is ninth from the left (dressed in the blue kimono, her orange maru obi bedecked with blue medallions); Shikan is the 11th from the right (he big guy at the back, with black and white camellias on his kimono); finally Gonjuro is on the far left (with that beautiful red Haori over his kimono -- he is obviously feling the cold).
