Description
English: The Polhamus House – Built in 1869 and located at 224-226 Madison Ave. in Yuma, Az. The house was purchased by steamboat pilot Captain Isaac Polhamus in 1884. It was used as a hospital during the 1891 typhoid epidemic.It became Yuma’s first public library in 1915 and served as Flood Headquarters in 1916. On the National Register of Historic Places as part of the Brinley Avenue Historic District.
