There are no new wildflowers within range of my ailing vehicle so the wasp watch continues. This is a cool little mason wasp frequently seen nectaring in the "weedy" patches I love to visit. This species does not actually build her nest out of mud but uses "either abandoned burrows of other insects or build nests from vegetable matter and resin." It is endemic to Florida. This one lives at Juno Dunes Natural Area in Palm Beach County. Here is a link with information:
