File talk:David Gilmour in Munich July 2006-ed-.JPG

David Gilmoure is one of the great rock guitarists of all time and a wonderful musician, songwriter and vocalist. He also plays a mean saxophone. His guitar playing is amazingly poignant. He has a great talent for building tension in the music and slowly building to a crescendo of wonderful extended jams. His music is extremely heartfelt and, just listening to it, one is exposed to the depth of his intellect and his emotions. Simply, he is an absolute gem of a musician. He also has a very warm and generous heart, evidenced by the extent of his charity work as well as his support and nurture of fellow musicians. As one public example, he offered a street musician in Venice to join him on stage for his concert in 2006. The musician was creating wonderful sounds from many glasses of wine filled with water. David who has been facinated and experimented with this method of making music, recognized the virtuosity in this unknown musician and offered him the gig on the spot, much to the man's amazement. Here is a raised glass of wine in toast to this master musician and generous, kind-hearted man, Mr. David Gilmoure.
