The first floor balcony was originally a staging trapdoor for public hangings. The only remaining reminder of the 'gallows' being the 2 white bricks abiove the first floor door in the positions of the original wooden gallows support 82.108.104.162 (talk) 10:00, 28 February 2012 (UTC)
