RBC travel time

What's the basis for the 20s transit time of the RBC---is it just for a more convenient viewing experience? I imagine with ~5L blood and ~5L/min cardiac output, we'd see the average RBC taking a full minute to make the loop? --Eccentricity (talk) 05:27, 5 January 2014 (UTC)
