The law offices shown in the photo used to be called "The Fruit Store" when I was a kid. My Dad and I used to drive in to town every night to pick up my grandmother ("Nanny") when she was done work at the White Cupboard Inn, where she was pastry cook. Nanny used to give me a nickel every night, so I could run over to the Fruit Store to get an ice cream cone (single dip). They had booths and tables for breakfasts and lunches, sold newspapers, fruit, and some post cards and other incidentals. -Kathy Newcomb
