Improvement suggestions
editThere are a couple things I think could really improve this image. Most importantly I think it needs to be flipped vertically so the nose of the airplane is upwards; as drawn it gives the impression that the survivors were in the nose, as seemingly all seat maps are drawn like this (including the original art.2) Adding the ghost outline of the wings would also help with spatial orientation.
Second, is revamping or removing most of the colors. While pretty, it again gives the wrong impression, as the color red to me would indicate deaths, and green survivors, at quick glance. As the actual section divisions aren't important to the accident the only emphasized color should be the survivors, or alternatively use 2 colors to positively indicate survival/death seat positions (not all seats were filled, as also implied here)
