Grading

Would a map showing percentage Lutheran be better as places such as Norway and Denmark where the vast majority are Lutheran don't have populations higher than the largest grade and Greenland, where 85% of people are Lutheran doesn't even have a population larger than the lowest grade. --Lemonade100 16:46, 23 July 2014 (UTC)
- Using a choropleth map for showing absolute figures (e.g. number of church members) can be very misleading. A thematic maps is supposed to convey reliable impression of the phenomenon by visual means. This map is totally wrong and misleading because prominent large colored areas do not represent high membership. Conversely, if there is a high number or members in a small area, it hardly shows at all. Believe me: the only correct way to show the actual number of members by country is proportinal symbol map that can be found here: https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Lutherans_around_the_world.jpg --Periegetes (talk) 11:13, 16 October 2016 (UTC)
Additionally, I have stated that this maps does not for some reason contain all countries listed in the LWF membership statistic, which is also a serious mistake. --Periegetes (talk) 11:13, 16 October 2016 (UTC)
