This map is misleading. British (or here 'Brittanic') influence was based in Bushehr and Shiraz, and the treaty with Russia establishing spheres of influence respected this.

On the map by contrast, Britain's sphere of influence appears to be based around Sistan-ye Baluchistan, an area which does not include Britain's major military deployments, trading centres, or tribal allies.

I suggest it be at least removed from the Qajar page.

OK. Also, what is the deal with the waterway connecting the Aral and Caspian Seas? There is and never has been any such waterway, I don't think. Herostratus (talk) 17:24, 30 March 2012 (UTC)Reply
