Diagram Correctness

I believe this diagram is incorrect. In my opinion, the "user" box belongs at the bottom of the diagram. The rationale is that the user interacts with hardware (keyboard, computer screen, mouse, and other peripherals, and physical interface devices). In other words, the interaction between the user and the application happens through the hardware and the OS. Of course, not all hardware devices are used for user interaction (e.g. disk drive, modem). To make that distinction, perhaps the "Hardware" box should be split into two: user interface devices, and other hardware devices; then, the user box would only have arrows to and from the UI device box. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Novjus (talk • contribs) 14:48, 19 December 2010 (UTC)

Interesting point. From a physical perspective: absolutely, from a logical perspective not. Your point actually demonstrates what's the purpose of the OS: logically isolate the user from the hardware to reorient the focus towards the application.
