This image is not actually of the full flower itself as the plant in the image is lacking petals. the petals are short lived in this species falling off after only about 2 weeks and leaving the hardier structures as seen here. therefore, i believe that the image title is misleading and should be changed to Sarracenia purpurea purpurea floral structures shortly after flowering. 66.109.34.210 (talk) 17:20, 15 May 2012 (UTC)Jesse
