This file was commissioned by the band to be exclusively used with permission on web outlets such as wikipedia. It is non-replaceable because it is a visual representation of the band's current lineup. There is no previously existing media that features these individuals - which is the only legal current incarnation of the band. Text is not a sufficiant page descriptor as they are an audio/visual artist[1]— Preceding unsigned comment added by Fizzgig123 (talk • contribs) 16:58, 7 June 2016

- @Fizzgig123: It would seem possible for a fan to take a photo of the band at a gig, if this is their current line-up, or for a member of the band to take a photo and release it as a genuinely free image.
- There's no meaningful middle ground of "image can be used on Wikipedia and certain web outlets but not others" - if the band want to go all the way and CC-Attribution licence a low-res version of the photo so that Wikipedia (and every other website, magazine and random person in the world) can reuse it for any purpose, including commercial ones, that would be great. --McGeddon (talk) 16:10, 7 June 2016 (UTC)Reply
- @McGeddon: Unfortunately, there have been no gigs performed with this lineup, and it is a 7 piece band who's members are spread out across southern california making the occasion rare when the whole band is present. Is it possible to provide copyright permissions from the owner and make this image fair use? I guess I'm still not totally clear what the best avenue would be with permissions, since the owner gave this photo to me to be used across the web. Are you suggesting I upload another version of this to Creative Commons? I'm sure that would be fine, but I just want to clarify my next steps. Thanks
