Agreement: this does appear to be a P-40 Tomahawk. The only other plane it appears to resemble (I think) is the Hawker Tempest - unlikely considering the US insignia, and although hard to tell from this angle it appears to have a shorter rear fuselage then the Tempest - more in keeping with the P-40. Also the angle of the wing (slightly upwards) and the protrusions on the wing close to the fuselage. (Reference: external image) Audigex 15:31, 22 January 2007 (UTC)
