The club was founded in 1956 when it joined the newly created Liga Española de Fútbol in Mexico . The club was founded by the migrant community of Galicia .in its origins the club was mainly made up from players from the region of Galicia but gradually started signing players from Mexico .

Galicia de Cuernavaca

In 1984[3] Galicia and the city of Cuernavaca morelos came to an agreement with the club to move to Cuernavaca and join the Tercera División de México along 7 other teams Alianza de Sayula, Amatitlán, Ayense, Pioneros de Cancún, , Jaguares Colima, Deportivo Tepa and Tlaquepaque.Theclub played its home games in the Estadio Centenario ,during it first season in professional football the club was placed in the Group B1 which they ended up winning with 52 points 14 points ahead of U.de Jalapa (38).Galicia ended wining the group 2 place playoffs which send them into the semifinals against Búfalos Curtidores | who they felt to 4-2.The club ended playing a promotional series for against Lagos de Moreno who finished 2ndto last in the Segunda División de México ,Galicia ended up wining that series and earning the promotion to the Segunda B.
