Hellenic Electroacoustic Music Composers Association

(Redirected from HELMCA)

The Hellenic Electroacoustic Music Composers Association (HELMCA), founded in 2002, is the only national association of electroacoustic music in Greece..[1] It is registered as a nonprofit organization (act. 1059.91/2001). Its members are active composers and sound artists who creatively use advances in music technology, producing a variety of musical forms of sonic art in their work. The main aim of HELMCA is to strengthen the collaboration and solidarity among its members and to promote electroacoustic music in Greece and abroad.

HELMCA became the official Greek federation of the International Confederation of Electroacoustic Music (CIME/ICEM) in June 2006,[2] and it is the national member of the IREM (International Rostrum of Elactroacoustic Music, a part of UNESCO).
