editThe film was announced in February 2024, the to be directed by Philippa Lowthorpe, and written by Emma Donoghue, adapting H is for Hawk, the 2014 memoir by Helen McDonald. It is set to star Claire Foy and Brendan Gleeson and has been developed with Film4 who will executive produce and co-finance.[1] The film is also being produced by Plan B Entertainment who had previously been attached to an adaptation of the book with Lena Headey.[2][3]
Filming began in Cambridge in November 2024.[4][5] Filming is also scheduled to take place in Wales and London.[6]
