Career
editGordon is a hematologist-oncologist.[1] He is a former president of the Connecticut State Medical Society.[2][3] He formerly was a member of the Town of Woodstock Planning & Zoning Commission.[4]
Gordon was elected as a Republican to the state Senate in November 2022 from Connecticut's 35th State Senate district; his district covers Ashford, Chaplin, Coventry, Eastford, Ellington, Hampton, Stafford, Thompson, Tolland, Union, Vernon, Willington, and Woodstock.[3]
He took office in January 2023.[3] In the state Senate, Gordon opposed proposed legislation in 2023 to phase out conventional gas-powered cars, and to mandate that all new car sales in Connecticut be electric vehicles by 2035. He argued that EV infrastructure was too expensive.[5]
