Jeff Mims (born January 27, 1947) is an American politician who became the 57th mayor of Dayton, Ohio, in 2022.[1] A member of the Democratic Party, he was elected as mayor on November 2, 2021, after he served on the city commission for two terms.[2]

Education
editMims graduated from Central State University in 1973, and was inducted into the Central State University Alumni Achievement Hall of Fame in 2014.[3] He received his Master of Science degree in Education from Wright State University in 1975.[4]

editIn August 2023, Mims collaborated with Congressman Mike Turner and Mackensie Wittmer, Executive Director of the National Aviation Heritage Area, to discuss strategy of how to rehabilitate the Wright Company Factory after a devastating fire.[5]
National leadership role
editIn November 2022, Mims was chosen to serve as the chair of the National League of Cities (NLC) Mayors' Education Task Force.[6]
Personal life
editMims is married to Toni Mims. Together, they have three children and three grandchildren.[7]
