KVMV (96.9 FM) is a non-commercial radio station licensed to McAllen, Texas, which serves the Lower Rio Grande Valley. The station broadcasts a Christian adult contemporary radio format,[3] switching to Christmas music from Black Friday to Christmas Day. The station is currently owned by World Radio Network, Inc.[4]

History

The station first came on the air on March 9, 1972, branding as KVMV-FM 97. In the early 2010s, KVMV changed their branding to 96.9 KVMV.

In 2002, K268AP-FM in Falfurrias, Texas became a simulcast of KVMV.

For the 2018 holiday season, the station flipped to Christmas music on November 23, 2018.

For the 2019 holiday season, the station flipped to Christmas music on November 29, 2019.

For the 2020 holiday season, the station flipped to Christmas music on November 27, 2020.

For the 2021 holiday season, the station flipped to Christmas music on November 26, 2021.

For the 2022 holiday season, the station flipped to Christmas music on November 25, 2022.

For the 2023 holiday season, the station flipped to Christmas music on November 24, 2023.

For the 2024 holiday season, the station will flip to Christmas music on November 29, 2024.
