History

edit

Keilor Plains station opened on 27 January 2002, as part of the extension of the electrified network from St Albans to Sydenham.[4]

In 1986, boom barriers were installed at the former Taylors Road level crossing, which was located at the down end of the station.[5] In 1994, a rail-road roundabout was provided at the level crossing.[6] In April 2007, construction commenced on a grade separation project, which involved lowering the road underneath the railway line.[7] By September 2008, the level crossing was replaced and the project completed.[8][9]
