La Codosera (Codossera, in Portuguese) is a municipality located in the province of Badajoz, Extremadura, Spain. According to the 2006 census (INE), the municipality has a population of 2,269 inhabitants. It is located close to the international border with Portugal at the eastern end of the Serra de São Mamede.[2]

The highest point in the municipal term is 596 m high La Lamparona.[3]

It is most commonly known as the seat of the Sanctuary of Chandavila, a popular Catholic pilgrimage shrine, famous for the Marian apparitions of Our Lady of Sorrows said to have occurred in 1945 to Marcelina Barroso Expósito and Afra Brígido Blanco.
