History
editThe Spanish Amateur Football League was founded in 1954 following the departure of professional Spanish teams Asturias F.C. and Real Club España from the Liga MX. These 2 clubs left the league around the time the Mexican first division started going professional, as they considered themselves amateur non-profit clubs. Another reason why they left the league was the xenophobia these 2 clubs were receiving due to the fact that they were of Spanish origin.
founding clubs
editThe original founding members in 1954 were Atletico Bembibre, Centro Vasco, Depoertivo Llanes, Deportivo Iberio Juventud Asturina
