Matthew Kaplan (April 14, 1984) is an American film producer. He is known for producing young adult films, including the To All the Boys film series. He is the founder and CEO of Ace Entertainment and former president of Awesomeness Films.[1]

Biography
editKaplan graduated from Columbia University,[2] where he was a quarterback on the Columbia Lions football team.[3][4]
After college, he was hired by CBS President and CEO Les Moonves as an intern, before becoming director of digital development for the company.[5][6] He then jumped to Lionsgate Films, rising to SVP Development and Production, overseeing projects such as They Came Together starring Amy Poehler and Paul Rudd.[7]
Kaplan founded Chapter One Films in 2013 and signed a first-look deal with Blumhouse Productions, during which he produced movies including The Darkness and The Lazarus Effect.[7]
In 2015, he was tapped by Jeffrey Katzenberg to head the film division of Awesomeness.[5] He founded Ace Entertainment in 2017, which produced the film To All the Boys I've Loved Before and its sequels.[8]
Kaplan's net worth in 2024 is estimated to be anywhere from three to fifty million dollars. He earned this primarily from producing films and TV shows and his other business ventures.[9]
Personal life
editHe is Jewish. From 2001 to 2004, while attending Columbia University, Kaplan dated former actress and now fashion designer Ashley Olsen.[3] He married actress Claire Holt in 2016. Kaplan filed for divorce a day before their anniversary in 2017.[10] He got engaged to Alexandra Cooper, the host of podcast Call Her Daddy in March 2023. They married on April 6, 2024. [11]
