"ISBN-10:" and "ISBN-13:" numbers

Please add this to the search page somewhere:

Spaces and dashes in the ISBN number do not matter. The number starts after the colon for "ISBN-10:" and "ISBN-13:" numbers.

For more info please see the first few paragraphs of:

and

OK, I'm not entirely sure about this (MediaWiki pages are tricky and variable), but since I probably don't have to worry about whether the page uses wikicode (using equivalent code that avoids that problem) and it can be reverted, I'll attempt changing the content to

<span class="mw-booksources-isbn"><span style="font-style:italic">Spaces and dashes in the ISBN number do not matter. The number starts after the colon for "ISBN-10:" and "ISBN-13:" numbers.</span><br />ISBN:</span>

which will hopefully have the desired result. I might end up reverting myself if the desired change doesn't work quite right, which is quite possible. Nihiltres{t.l} 15:46, 17 November 2007 (UTC)Reply
That didn't work, the message appears to accept only plaintext, not even html/css. Nihiltres{t.l} 15:56, 17 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

The contents of this page are used just as descriptive text for the input box. The message can be put at MediaWiki:Booksources-summary. I made the change. — Carl (CBM · talk) 16:02, 17 November 2007 (UTC)Reply
