Mitarai Dam (Japanese: 御手洗ダム) is a rockfill dam located in Kagoshima Prefecture in Japan. The dam is used for flood control and recreation. The catchment area of the dam is 6.6 km2. When full, the dam impounds about 8 ha of land and can store 1,180 thousand cubic meters of water. The construction of the dam was started in 1971 and completed in 1982.[1]
