@user:Mr. Stradivarius. This is a useful module and you might be interested in the conversation at Regnal years of English monarchs#Regnal years of English monarchs. Now that I know this template exists, I will probably mention it there. You will see from that conversation that an inversion of this template would be most useful. How much effort would it be to turn this template inside out and for example give the years for "Elizabeth I, 3"? (1560–1661)

I have been testing the module based on the information in Regnal years of English monarchs picking out unusual ones: These all seem to work as expected:

This one is interesting because there is no parenthesised mention of Henry VI "49th year" as there is with the Interregnum (Henry was restored from 9 October 1470 until c. April 1471).

• 1471 10 Edw. 4 – 11 Edw. 4

Years where a monarch changes

During Gregorian years when a monarch changes, there can be three regnal years. For example, 2022 CE began in 70 Eliz. 2, continued to 71 Eliz. 2, then with the death of Elizabeth II, became 1 Cha. 3.
