Bloody Mary
edit@user:Mr. Stradivarius. This is a useful module and you might be interested in the conversation at Regnal years of English monarchs#Regnal years of English monarchs. Now that I know this template exists, I will probably mention it there. You will see from that conversation that an inversion of this template would be most useful. How much effort would it be to turn this template inside out and for example give the years for "Elizabeth I, 3"? (1560–1661)
I have been testing the module based on the information in Regnal years of English monarchs picking out unusual ones: These all seem to work as expected:
- 1649 24 Cha. 1 – 1 Cha. 2
(Interregnum) - 1655 6 Cha. 2 – 7 Cha. 2
(Interregnum) - 1660 11 Cha. 2 – 12 Cha. 2
- 1688 3 Ja. 2 – 1 Will. & Mar.
- 1689 1 Will. & Mar. – 2 Will. & Mar.
- 1694 6 Will. & Mar. – 7 Will. & Mar.
- 1695 7 Will. & Mar. – 8 Will. 3
This one is interesting because there is no parenthesised mention of Henry VI "49th year" as there is with the Interregnum (Henry was restored from 9 October 1470 until c. April 1471).
See Regnal years of English monarchs#cite note-Mary I-10. The article states that unlike Wil and Mary (1668), that there should be separate years for Phil and Mary
Years where a monarch changes
editDuring Gregorian years when a monarch changes, there can be three regnal years. For example, 2022 CE began in 70 Eliz. 2, continued to 71 Eliz. 2, then with the death of Elizabeth II, became 1 Cha. 3. Would it be useful to have some way of indicating this in the template? --MtPenguinMonster (talk) 12:12, 7 March 2024 (UTC)

Hello.
Could someone please change the redirect "George IV of the United Kingdom" to "George IV"?
Thanks.

- The code is placed in Module:British regnal year. When I placed the edit request, I didn't see that the module talkpage was a redirect to the template talkpage. HandsomeFella (talk) 10:00, 14 April 2024 (UTC)
- I've fixed the edit request template for you. A template-editor should respond soon.
