Rendering issue on mobile

The layout of this template seems to be broken

Whenever I add this template in the middle of a paragraph

caption3	caption4

it seems to disrupt the flow of the text, as shown here. Is it possible to avoid this problem so that it does not disrupt the text, like Template:Multiple images? Jarble (talk) 20:05, 4 October 2015 (UTC)

Jarble, probably not. this template was designed for adding arrays of images to an infobox. adding a large array of images in the middle of text is not going to be feasible. Frietjes (talk) 14:21, 5 October 2015 (UTC)

creates an unnecessary line break even when it contains only one photograph, unlike other images in Wikipedia that do not split up the text at all.

Template:Multiple image doesn't introduce unnecessary line breaks, so I'm sure that it would be possible to fix this problem with Template:Image array as well. Can you recommend any ways to work around this issue? Jarble (talk) 19:56, 5 October 2015 (UTC)

@Frietjes: Template:Multiple image is much less convenient than Template:Image array. It requires the width or height of every image to be specified manually. Both of these templates have some cumbersome limitations, and I'm trying to work around them. (talk) 20:48, 5 October 2015 (UTC)

Jarble, for Template:Multiple image you can specify all the widths at once with the |width= parameter. have you considered using <gallery> with |mode=packed? without a specific example of what you are trying to do, it's kind of hard to help. Frietjes (talk) 12:50, 6 October 2015 (UTC)

Image sizes

Wtmitchell, this template is not really well suited for that application. I fixed by switching to {{gallery}} which is more robust, and works better on mobile. Frietjes (talk) 13:26, 22 July 2019 (UTC)
