The National Breast Cancer Foundation is an Australian non-profit organisation funding breast cancer research. It was established in 1994, and has awarded more than $200 million AUD to over 600 research projects across Australia.[citation needed] It primarily funds research projects studying risk factors, improving quality of life for patients, and developing and improving treatments.[1]
Campaigns organized by the organization include its October Pink Ribbon campaign,[2] its June GO PINK campaign,[3] and its August Step Up to Breast Cancer campaign.[4] It also participates in the Mother's Day Classic,[5] a national walk-run held annually on Mother's Day.
