History
editUntil 18 July 2020, Buialyk (then Petrivka) belonged to Ivanivka Raion. The raion was abolished in July 2020 as part of the administrative reform of Ukraine, which reduced the number of raions of Odesa Oblast to seven. The area of Ivanivka Raion was merged into Berezivka Raion.[3][4]
Until 26 January 2024, Petrivka was designated urban-type settlement. On this day, a new law entered into force which abolished this status, and Petrivka became a rural settlement.[5]
In September 2024, by the decision of the Verkhovna Rada, Petrivka was renamed to Buialyk.[6]
