- 1807 – The British Lt. Gen. John Whitelocke, Commander in chief of the British forces on the Río de la Plata, arrives to Montevideo, from where he will prepare the second invasion to Buenos Aires.
- 1858 – Dies the French naturalist Aimé Bonpland in his residence in Santa Ana de los Huácaras; lived in Argentina for years and was the director of the Museum of Natural Ciences in Corrientes.
- 1958 – The dictator Pedro Eugenio Aramburu leaves the Nation's presidency to Arturo Frondizi.
- 1973 – Start to work the National Universities of Entre Ríos, San Juan and San Luis, created as part of the Taquini plan.
