RECLAIM Network Plus is an open, interdisciplinary and international network of academics, policy makers and community organisations.

RECLAIM (Reclaiming Forgotten Cities - Turning cities from vulnerable spaces to healthy places for people) is an open, interdisciplinary and international network of academics, policy makers, community organisations and individuals exploring the co-benefits of urban green and blue infrastructures (GBI) in improving urban environments and human wellbeing.

RECLAIM network + aims to be a comprehensive resource centre for towns and cities seeking to implement green and blue infrastructure solutions within their communities. With a focus on knowledge exchange and collaboration, RECLAIM functions as a "one-stop-shop," providing access to essential information, support networks, and best practices. Funded projects

To explicitly address gaps in our knowledge of GBI effectiveness against multiple outcomes. These include the benefits of rewilding; the benefits of urban wildflower grasslands on biodiversity, carbon storage, air pollution and health and wellbeing; how to include and green infrastructures in schools; or how front gardens can reduce air pollution.^[]

Synthesis Reviews

To address knowledge gaps on the benefits of GBI on heatwaves, air pollution, carbon storage, flooding, biodiversity and mental health and wellbeing.

To learn from existing projects and facilitate ongoing learning and collaboration among network members.

RECLAIM was established in 2022 through Network+ grant^] funded by UK Research and Innovation (UKRI), and it is led by the University of Surrey’s Global Centre for Clean Air Research (GCARE), in collaboration with the UK Centre for Ecology & Hydrology and the Universities of Bath, Bangor, and Warwick.
