Politics
editNazir Sabir, the famed Pakistani mountaineer who summitted Everest and K2, was born in Raminji in the Chipursan valley.[1] He began his political career from Shrine of Baba Ghundi and was elected to the Gilgit Baltistan Legislative Assembly.

Born in Raminj village in the remote Chipursan Valley of Gojal, northern Hunza, Nazir Sabir started his climbing career with a Japanese expedition to the 7,284 metre high Passu peak in Gojal in 1974.
