The Super 8 Tournament is an annual professional wrestling tournament held by the East Coast Wrestling Association. The tournament is contested by eight wrestlers in a one-night single-elimination format.[1]

History
editThe ECWA Super 8 Tournament was first held in 1997 and was won by Ace Darling.[1] The 2011 tournament was broadcast live as an internet pay-per-view for the first time.[1][2] The 2011 tournament was also the first time the tournament had been held outside of Delaware.[3] Christopher Daniels and Darius Carter are the only two time winners.

The inaugural Super 8 Tournament took part on February 22, 1997, at the St. Matthew's Parish in Wilmington, Delaware.[17][18] In the tournament finals, Ace Darling defeated Cheetah Master (accompanied by WWE Hall of Famer Lou Albano) to win the tournament and the vacant ECWA Television Championship.[4][17]

The second Super 8 Tournament took part on March 21, 1998, at the Saint Matthews Parish Hall in Wilmington, Delaware.[17][19] Lance Diamond won the tournament after defeating Inferno Kid in the finals.[5][20]
