Biwako Sosui waterway
editDoes anybody know when it was built? The architectural style doesn't look Japanese.--Blackfield 19:06, 16 May 2006 (UTC)
Forget it, it was built in 1890. That explains the western influence.--Blackfield 19:18, 16 May 2006 (UTC)
Michigan Boat
editAs Lansing Michigan and Otsu have a sister city relationship, there has been a great deal of exchange between these two cities. The Michigan boat as pictured is one good example. It is owned by Biwako Kisen Steamship Company and with a partnership between Lansing Community College, there exists an exhange program for students of the college to live, work, and learn in Japan. This program came into being by an agreement signed by Dr. Gannon from Lansing Community College and Mr. Shigematsu from Japan. The program celebrated it's 25th anniversary in 2006.
