The result of the move request was: moved. (closed by non-admin page mover) (Edit:) - per WP:OTHEROPTIONS, it seems a better choice might be "Abdullah" versus "Abdallah", with the article largely using that spelling already and one editor preferring it with another being indifferent. Based on that, I will be moving this to that title, but if another title is preferred, another discussion can be opened. ASUKITE 14:26, 15 April 2022 (UTC)Reply

Abdullah ibn Muhammad al-UmawiAbdallah of Córdoba – English sources generally spell the name "Abdallah" or "Abd Allah" rather than "Abdullah (example sources listed below). I have no feelings about whether the space should be present after "Abd", but I assume people are more used to the name without a space. Some other notes: We could move the page to "Abdallah ibn Muhammad", which currently redirects here, but that name is easily shared by other persons. The "al-Umawi" in the current title is simply Arabic for "the Umayyad"; rather than have a basically Arabic disambiguator, the "of Córdoba" is a more understandable English disambiguator and is also consistent with the title format of other articles about Umayyad emirs (e.g. Muhammad I of Córdoba, Hisham I of Córdoba, etc). Example sources for spelling of name:

  • Bosworth, Clifford Edmund (2004). "The Spanish Umayyads" in The New Islamic Dynasties: A Chronological and Genealogical Manual.
