Requesting that the article ed to .300 Winchester Short Magnum which is the official name of the cartridge. .300 WSM is the short-hand version of this name. Currently there exists a redirect page at .300 Winchester Short Magnum to .300 WSM however as the official name of the cartridge is .300 Winchester Short Magnum this should be the title of the page while .300 WSM should direct to the .300 Winchester Short Magnum page. Comparison Table: English vs. Metric Units

The usefulness to most readers of this article's Comparison section would be greatly enhanced if the performance comparison table were to include English as well as metric values. The table presently has metric values only.

A large percentage of this cartridge's current and potential users are American, and most American shooters are used to seeing ballistic data stated in grains, not grams, feet per second, not meters per second, and so on. In particular, "12.96 grams" is not a standard bullet weight that anyone looking at .30 caliber (.308"/7.62 mm) cartridges will recognize!

(I retain an above-average comfort level with metric units from my study of physics and chemistry, but I have no idea what standard, actually available .30 caliber bullet weight 12.96 grams corresponds to. 200 grains? 180 grains? 168 grains? I could calculate it or look it up, of course, and I plan to do so — after I have finished composing and posting this comment — but the fact that even I would have to do so makes my point!)

Keep the metric values in the table, by all means, but someone should add the missing English equivalents.

(I would do this myself if I weren't afraid of making some inadvertent error, due to my rustiness at physics and ballistics, my relative lack of expertise concerning rifle cartridges, and my present lack of familiarity with Wikipedia tables and their editing mechanics.)

And to make the comparison even more useful, it should include comparisons for all three of the most commonly used, standard .30 caliber bullet weights: 168 grains, 180 grains, and 200 grains. I assume that one of those three weights is in fact equal to 12.96 grams, but the other two should be added to the table.

Furthermore, the list of other cartridges to which the .300 WSM is compared should include the .308 Winchester (and/or the essentially identical 7.62 x 51 mm NATO). The omission of this cartridge is striking, since every other major .30 caliber rifle round is already included in the table.
